Sustaining Power Conversion
Obsolete Equipment
End-of-Life Solutions

Obsolescence is a reality in the world of industrial equipment. 741 Solutions can help with your specific lifecycle challenges by performing proper preventative maintenance on end-of-life (EOL) equipment. We can also provide sensible turn-key retrofit kits to phase out the EOL devices once they have become too costly to keep in operation.

Retrofill Vacon CX Modernization Process

For owners of obsolete CX equipment, 741 offers a painless path to modernization via our two-layer process:

Layer One:   Addressing the Physical Needs

Form factor difference

Power connectivity

Signal connectivity

Layer Two:  Custom Upgrade

Tailored to your specific needs.

Replicate what is being controlled by the old CX onto the new NX

Optional: As an added interim step, we can outfit a mock-up unit to place into service in your installation. All commissioning of the replacement drive can be fully proven before we begin the final production units.
GE Legacy Drive Systems

General Electric microDrill SCR Systems
The 741 GEM3 retrofit kit was devised to allow for in situ upgrades of obsolete components in the legacy microDrill 3000 drive. Two kits provide all necessary means with which to upgrade the electronics to the digital DCM platform.

Armature Supply Unit Kit (ASUKIT)
ASUKIT consists of an adapted DCM rated 1600 amps at 750 volts DC. The ASU is a drop-in replacement for the existing thyristor cell stacks and DCM unit.

Field Supply Unit Kit (FSUKIT)
The field kit consists of a current control DCM unit, as well as a compact Three Phase Step Down Transformer. The 90 amp field DCM has simple capacity to control the shunth field winding of a GE752 drilling motor under the most severe loading.

General Electric Gen-3 SCR Systems
Currently we are able to service and diagnose existing systems and source parts for them. We have not yet developed retrofit parts for the Generation 3. If you have a lifecycle problem with parts in a GE Gen3 system, please contact us to learn about retrofit possibilities.

DC Motors

Controlling large shunt-wound or series-wound DC motors (such as GE 752) can be done effectively with modern digital DCM drives.  This new platform of SCR DC drive boasts increased control performance and functionality;  the user interface it also uses the familiar Sinamics drive interface.  We are able to help with any application, whether in a new installation or in an existing application in need of a retrofit.
