Energy Storage allows for Hybrid industrial power systems which operate more efficiently
741 is currently developing a larger scale of flexible energy storage options which will enable ‘islanded’ electrical systems to become hybrids, thereby capturing the kinetic energy generated by a descending machine and storing it in a cabinet.
While our high-power DC-DC conversion topologies have been finely tuned by our hardware partners, our current developments focus on the application software to allow for adaptive hybrid operation schemes:
- BRAKE: Store descent energy for re-injection during ascent (winch application)
- BRIDGE: Sipping baseline energy from mains to ride through (bridge) a sudden increase in load
- BACKUP: Providing for as much transient ride-through time as possible (similar to a UPS)
